CORONA, CA - There has never
been a better time to become a member of REACT. You'll meet some
incredibly nice people, have a "fun" time at our meetings, and
learn how to use your radio with other team members at various events (we
use them as training opportunities)!
And your FREE membership in CREST is now "just a click
away" from this page.
That's right. Membership in CREST is absolutely FREE!
All you pay for is your REACT membership and insurance. We keep
nothing. Every dollar we collect is sent directly to REACT in
Suitland (that's in Maryland)
to pay for your membership and make sure you have the same insurance
coverage as all other members of REACT.
No Application Processing Fee
CREST does not charge for processing your membership application. In
fact, we may even recommend that you apply to another team that's closer to
where you live or work. That way, you won't have to drive so far and
you be able to maximize your participation in REACT.
Not everything is free, however. You'll have to purchase and maintain
your own two-way radio(s), but we'll offer recommendations regarding the
benefits and advantages of various types of radios. They aren't all
the same! Some have more channels you can quickly select as needed,
some are software programmable, some have more transmitting power than
others.
You Own What You Buy
Every radio you purchase is yours to keep, for as long as you own
them. And members of Team CREST stand ready to support you, and will
even "cheer you on" as you spend even more of your money to buy
extra batteries ... and maybe, as time goes on, even more
radios!!
About Your GMRS License
If you're an amateur radio operator (HAM), you are not authorized to
operate any of the General Mobile Radio Service (GMRS) radios we use.
The same rule applies to all of us who only have GMRS licenses -- we can't
use the amateur radio bands.
After your CREST application is processed and you've received your FREE
training by one of our Training Officers, you'll be ready to start
transmitting. And we'll be right there to help you as you push your
"transmit button" for the first time!
