RI CONVENTION TO/FROM TRAVEL |
Welcome to southern California and to Corona West.
Corona West is serviced by the Ontario, Los Angeles and John Wayne
(Orange County) airports.
Transportation to and from Corona is shortest from Ontario, but
either LAX or John Wayne are also convenient and easily accessible
by numerous shuttle vendors.

Recommended
Airport
If your travel plans allow, the Planning Committee recommends using
Ontario Airport for flying into southern California. It is
geographically closer, which means less time spent in the shuttle
after you get off the plane and collect your luggage.
Geographically, Ontario Airport is located north of Corona
West. And although SNA may "appear" to the untrained
eye to be closer, travel time is V-E-R-Y different!
If you are using LAX or SNA and have a Monday-Friday arrival or
departure, we recommend traveling to/from the airport between 0900
and 1400 Hours (9:00 am and 2:00 pm), or anytime after 1830 Hours
(6:30 pm).

Travel in Southern California
Visitors to southern California will be "slightly
surprised" when they experience "rush hour"
traffic for the first time. Our version is probably different
that other areas that you may have visited.
For most "cities" in southern California, the borderline
of where one city ends and the other begins is largely invisible,
resulting in an ongoing "sprawl" that frequently surprises
many. From San Diego to north Los Angeles, and in most areas
of Orange County, cities simply "blend in" and are part of
the "urban sprawl."
The Result: California Freeways (we don't call them
"expressways" out here), are frequently compared to "parking lots"
during rush hour. This can mean a very long trip from LAX or
SNA to Corona, especially if you arrive during rush
hour.
